Perseverance
“[by faith] he persevered because he saw Him who is invisible.” - Hebrews 11:27b.
Throughout our lifetime, we will face moments when we can either give up or persevere.
Perseverance is not an easy path, especially in our generation where we want everything "now!" It's quite rocky, but it's undeniably a powerful choice as it produces character, which ultimately leads to hope (Romans 5:4-5). And guess what? Hope doesn't disappoint us!
It demonstrates faith and trust in the One who is invisible.
Perseverance has granted me the privilege of experiencing His fingerprints in my story. When I look back, I can see His movements throughout my life—acts of love that only a caring God can perform.
By faith, I persevere in my walk with Him because I have seen Him, who is invisible, in answers to prayers. In the kindness of those who walk this life with me. And His presence, which, even when quiet, speaks loudly to my heart.
By faith, I can't give up on Him because I have seen Him, who is invisible, in the way I have witnessed Him, not only in my own life but also in the lives of those around me.
The provision He brings even when the desert is real. The smile He puts on my face when tears keep showing up, and the peace He gives me amid chaos.
By faith, I persevere because I know He is continually here carrying me.
“Though I have not seen Him, my heart knows Him well.”
Without perseverance, we miss out.
As I learn to fix my eyes on Him, who endured the cross for me, His example inspires me, and I persevere. And, dear people, He is so good!
"Unable to perceive the shape of You, I find You all around me. Your presence fills my eyes with Your love, It humbles my heart, for You are everywhere."
For you:
I want to encourage you to write down the reasons why “by faith”, you persevere. Use this as a gentle reminder of your role to keep persevering as a follower of Christ.
“By faith, I persevere…”
